About Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area
DSCBA’s mission is to empower, inspire and support people with Down Syndrome, their families, and the community that serves them while fostering awareness and acceptance in all areas of life.
DSCBA develops services that are in line with members’ needs and strives to continuously break down barriers to success by providing resources, technology, and education through their direct services. Their Down Syndrome Education Alliance, Expression Connection and Communication Readiness Programs, as well as Peer Development Classes, Medical Outreach Alliance, public policy outreach, education advocacy, new parent outreach, support groups, and more, reflect the diverse needs of their members.
Their programs and services include information and programs for new and expecting parents, the THRIVE Program, Connection Groups, Music Therapy, Speech Services as well as Communication Readiness Programs.

ABOUT THE LIME FOUNDATION
he LIME Foundation seeks to harness each individual’s potential by providing vital skills for the construction trades; in music, the performing arts and technology; and for the health of senior citizens.

NEXTGEN TRADES ACADEMY ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION VOCATIONAL PROGRAM
Now offered through the NextGen Trades Academy – trains youth in construction fields like roofing, solar, general contracting and more. The program also offers home repair services, specifically roofing, to the under-served. This allows seniors, veterans, the disabled and low-income families to remain in their own homes, independent and safe.
SENIOR ACTIVITIES PROGRAM (SAP)
The Senior Activities Program (SAP) provides a venue for seniors to remain active while creating new friends. It promotes healthy eating and exercise through dance, bowling, hiking and many other activities in order to prevent or reverse heart disease, diabetes and obesity. The LIME Foundation contracted with Healdsburg Nutrition and a private yoga instructor to offer multiple six-to-seven week courses to seniors. Participants are also encouraged to take advantage of supplemental, private, 15-minute phone coaching sessions. Healdsburg Nutrition has designed these sessions to address chronic health issues and resistance to changing unhealthy habits, thoughts and behaviors.
